Effective anti heartburn treatment.

Gaviscon liquid helps to soothe the burn of heartburn and acid indigestion, on swallowing the liquid coats and soothes the food pipe and helps combat the acid in the stomach.

The mixture is a thick gloopy liquid that while not tasting bad has a slightly unpleasant consistency. However, much of the merit of the liquid lies in the thickness of the mixture and you could quite imagine it deadening the acid.

Crucially it works and is reliable, heartburn is a unpleasant nuisance and it is very useful to have this in the house for when it strikes.

Gaviscon comes in an increasingly large range of products, from tablet form to different flavours of liquid (aniseed and peppermint). The liquid comes in 150ml, 300ml and a large 600ml bottle. The smaller retails at around £3 and is readily available in chemists, supermarkets and grocery shops.

Sugar and gluten free, it can be taken when pregnant. Adult dose is two 10 - 20ml spoonfuls when needed.
