This review is about the essential oil ?Ginger?. I will be giving an overview of ginger, how it is extracted from the plant and the many applications in which it is used for to treat the body. It should be pointed out from the start that this is a general guide and that if you intend using this essential oil you must get expert advise first. **The Origin of Ginger Essential Oil** The ginger plant that is said to originated from India, China and Java yet it is also native to Africa and the West Indies. It is also known as Zingiber officinalis from the family, Zingiberaceae. It was most possibly brought to the continent of Europe between the 10th ... Read the complete review

This oil is fiery and hot and it is good in situations where you need warmth. It is extracted by steam distillation from the roots of the ginger plant (Zingiber officinalis, family name: Zingiberaceae). The main producer of this essential oil is China. It has a sharp fragrance that is quite 'short lived' so it is said to have a 'top note' aroma. USES: +++++ Very good for aching muscles, rheumatism and arthritis. Perfect for a warming, winter bath when you get very cold and shivery. Helps to make skin less oily. Good for stomach problems and indigestion. Rumoured to be an aphrodisiac. ... Ginger is one of my personal favourite oils, yet one which is not especially widely known and used in this country. My main use of it is in perfumes, both for wearing and scenting the home. Mixed with any citrus and bottom notes such as frankincense or patchoulli it makes a resonating and heady perfume (which I love but may not be everyone's cup of tea) It smells not like the ginger you buy in supermarkets, it has a sharper, dryer scent than that, although the warmth and sweeteness can be brought out in blends. If you've ever smelled the fresh green ginger herb - well that's what the oil smells like. Theraputically, ginger doesn't fall into ... Read the complete review

Ginger This plant has been used for centuries and it is the root which has the healing properties. The root can be shredded once dried and made into a tea, it can be used in baking, in cough mixture and as a flavour to some meals. It is so versatile that it’s one of my favourite things to buy for the kitchen I use this all the time and it’s very cheap to buy from around 50p to £1.00 a root depending on where you buy it from, it is a little more expensive from the health shops but cheaper in the supermarkets. This is also the most baffling of roots for me to grow and there has been many a time when one of the roots has sprouted, but trying to get it ... Read the complete review

Ginger is much more than a simple nausea supressant. It has the property of combatting moisture imbalance within the body. It's main use in this arena is to alleviate the symptoms of asthma and other respiratory ailments. I must stress that its use is complementary and NOT alternative (that is, take any prescribed medication and use ginger as an additional therapy - always best to inform your GP of such things too). This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg too. Ginger is an excellent blood purifier and supporter of the immune system. If you don't like the taste of the root, capsules and tablets are available ... Read the complete review
