I have quite a collection of essential oils around the house, all of which have a variety of uses and can be used in different forms. Years ago a half a grapefruit with a cherry stuck in the middle used to be a very popular `starter` for a meal, much like Black Forest Gateau used to be the pudding of the moment too! I still buy fresh grapefruit, OK they are fussy to prepare and take time to eat but they are packed with Vitamin C and if you eat a half a grapefruit for breakfast it`s a good start to the day. grapefruit is grown on citrus trees very similarly to oranges and lemons so there is no surprise that this is a very bitter tasting fruit, it is available in 3 colours white, pink and red, only the inside is a different colour as the outer remains the same, the colours also vary in acidity too so some taste sweeter than others and pink is my favorite as it is not too bitter but just nice enough to be enjoyed, i do cheat a little though and put sugar inside so defeating the object of it being very healthy.
