Advantages: quick relief, nice taste, great size

Disadvantages: can make you go to the loo

My thoughtful older daughter carefully picked these out for me when I was suffering from a cold, sore throat & cough earlier this week, She paid around 59p from Tesco for this pack which contains about 8 lozenges & the total weight is 45g.

Each one is individually wrapped in its own wrapper so they don't stick together & are really easy to undo unlike some others I've tried. Each oval-shaped sweet is about 2cm x 1.5cm which is a good size as they are quite deep & they're a lovely deep cherry colour.

The cherry taste is nice & strong & as soon as you pop one in your mouth the flavour is released & they seem to get to work on the airways pretty quickly. Although they are sugar-free they're a little on the sweet side which make it tempting to have more than you need as they taste like cherry boiled sweets - yum!

The outer part is hard but after you've been sucking for a couple of minutes the texture changes to a softer, thickish liquid & you can taste even more of the lovely cherry flavour.

I noticed that after having the first one that my throat felt slightly less sore, I was concentrating on trying not to bite into it so my cough eased up a bit & my nose wasn't so blocked - probably due to the eucalyptus?

However, about 30 minutes later my symptoms came back so the effect wasn't long lasting for me (although I would like to stress that I was subsequently diagnosed with a chest infection) so these may work better for those with minor symptoms as they're not marketed as being a medicine.

The ingredients, nutritional values & recommended use are listed clearly on the packet - just a caution - contains a laxative so don't suck too many!

summary
~
- well packaged & easy to access quickly.
- yummy taste although a bit sweet for me.
- seem to give quick but temporary relief from blocked noses etc.
- recommended if you like cherry soothing sweets.

I

Summary: well worth a try
