I love throat sweets, mainly for the taste, but the soothing nature does give my sore throats a quick fix. However, I can't say that for the cherry flavoured Halls.

--- Information ---
Halls are widely available to purchase for around 60p for a pack of 10 lozenges. There are lots of different flavours available, some are:
Blackcurrant
Strawberry
Cherry
Peach and raspberry

The packaging follows the same suit as the rest of the range, being bright red and white in colour representing the cherry flavour. Inside this packaging is 10 individually wrapped lozenges.

--- The lozenges ---
After opening the wrapper, you are greeted with a lovely deep red coloured lozenge. It's oval in shape and looks exactly like a hard boiled sweet. As soon as it's placed in your mouth you are greeted with a gorgeous tangy cherry flavour, this taste lasts throughout the whole of the sucking process, until you reach the liquid centre.

The liquid centre is quite thick in consistency. This is the part that usually soothes my throat instantly, but that isn't the case with these cherry lozenges. With the blackcurrant flavoured Halls, for example, you can taste the menthol properties of the lozenge, but with these cherry Halls there is no evidence of the menthol taste, maybe this is why I don't feel like they soothe my throat.

As these taste so good, if I do happen to buy a packet I can't stop at one throat sweet and end up devouring the whole pack. This doesn't have any effect on me. But apparently, excessive consumption can cause a laxative effect, I'm not sure how much they mean by excessive consumption, but 1 pack isn't that!

I wouldn't recommend these if you are looking for a lozenge that will ease a sore throat. I didn't feel like they soothed my throat at all. However, the taste of these cherry flavoured Halls is delicious. The price is quite expensive at about 6p per lozenge for just a normal cherry sweet!
