If you read my other review today, you will know that recently I have been suffering with a cold. I have been taking boots cough mixture. But in the times between taking the mixture I have been using halls cherry lozenges! For years now I have been using Lockets when I have a sore throat and cold. My nan always used to have halls at her house and when I had a cold she would give me a very strong cough sweet which was the original version of these. So when I was in boots buying my medicine I spotted these and I instantly recognised the design of the packaging and purchased these as I love cherry!

Price/packaging:

I paid 49p for a pack of these, I think that's a good price as you get about 10 per pack. I'm sure you can get them cheaper I'm larger packets. The packaging is a lovely cherry colour and is simple with the words halls cherry, you are also told that these are sugar free. What sold them too me was the fact that the packet has an image on the sweet and words above saying vapour action. They look great. The sweets are all individually wrapped with a white wrapper that has the word halls all over it. They are easy to open and insure that the sweet is kept fresh. Overall the packaging is simple, but it looks great. The sweets are square which makes them look different to other cough sweets on the shelf.

Do they work? What do they taste like?:

They have a very strong cherry flavour which lasts throughout the sweet. The sweet will last a long time and all you need to do Is suck untill it disapears, do not bite it or it won't work. They will instantly start to soothe a soar throat and will coat your throat. I also noticed that they started to unblock my nose. They give you relief quite fast and taste so much nicer than other medicine. They fit into your mouth nice too as they are not too large. I found that one sweet was enough to help me out. They taste good and are moreish! The good thing is that they are sugar free so they are not bad for your teeth.

Ingredients:

Sweeteners (isomalt, aspartame, acesulfame-k), Flavourings, colours (e163, e160). They have a very small amount of ingredients in them. Below the ingredients section you are told that if you have too many of these then it may cause laxative effects!!! So I would not over do it on these, you probably don't want those effects for obvious reasons :)

Overall:

These are very nice and a great value, I think these are the best type I have had before and I will use them next time I get a cold. The cherry flavour is nice and the pain relief Is quick. I would recommend these to friends and family as they worked for me. Thanks for reading my review. These get 5 stars from me, they really worked well :)
