All the signs of summer are dissappearing fast, and all those horrible colds seem to be arriving. Everyone l know seems to have a cold at the moment of some sort, and it seems l havent avoided one.
So l needed something to help me survive my sore throat and chest infection.... I dont usually buy this product l must admit, but it was an emergency, so l shall review soothers.

Important info

The product l brought was Halls soothers throat sweets. There are different flavours available, l brought the black currant and strawberry flavour.
Halls soothers, quite supprisingly are a Cadbury product, although made in Turkey. The packs come in 45g packets. A pack contains 165 kcals and they are covered in sugar. So possibly not great for weightloss. They also claim that they contain real fruit juice, which they do, although its only 3%.

Okay the product isnt cheap cheap they cost near 60p a pack, but for some light relief from the pain, its worth it.
I personally prefer the strwaberry flavour, which l had never tasted before.
Both contain a soothing liquid centre which is soothing to the discomfort from the symtoms of colds. The outer layer is more of a boiled sweet. To behonest the outside layer seems to help very little. So as soon as possible l bite my way through to get some relief from the pain. I like the fact that they are flavoured. I usually buy the halls menthol, which in fairness l probably prefer, mainly because they are so strong you cant normally feel your mouth at all.
These soothers however are quite different. They come in a pleasant packet. Unfortunately theres not a huge amount of info on the packet.
The product is most appropriate for sore throats, however l have been using it for my chest too, and it does help a little.

Over all l probably find Halls menthol more useful to be honest. But l thought these might be better to help my chest. They offer a plesant (okay not quite in the nice category but plesant flavour) flavour that gives some light relief, the effects dont last all that long. I suppose if you want medicated losengers you would choose something like strepsils though. These are quite handy to carry about with you, to work, or shopping etc. Next time l shall probably go back to my halls menthol, but these are difinately second best for me.

I do recommend them, l think its just personal preferance. The quality and standard of sweet is good. Especially good if you prefer the flavoured sweet.
