Advantages: doesn't burn the mouth of you like other cough sweets, reasonable price, does a good job soothing

Disadvantages: only soothes throat and stops dry coughs - don't expect miracles

Halls soothers are flying of the shelves at the moment as usual at this time of year when nearly everybody is run down with the cold or flu.

I am going to focus my review on the blackcurrant soothers as i haven't had any of the other flavours for a long time. Each packet of soothers weigh 45g and contain 10 "sweets" they are a mild but effective relieve to cold symptoms. The likes of lockets, strepsils and halls original are likely to burn the mouth of you and will have a good effective, but if you want something a bit more mild that do a similar job then soothers is the one.

I have a mild cold at the moment and have been taking soothers and find that as the name suggests the medicinal liquid inside the sweet soothes my throat, stopping my dry cough almost immediatly for quite a long time.

I find the sweets addictive and have to buy a few packets everytime im in a shop they are really tasty and do a great job in curing my sore throat and dry cough, any symptoms more than that and i would recommend using these along with paracetemol or other cold and flu remedies such as lemsip or beechams.

The price is reasonable with a packet costing 60p give or take a few pence, well worth it for the relief you will get.

Soothers will obviously not work miracles as they are just a mild cough sweet but they will provide a nice relief from some of the cold symptoms, i recommend this product to all of you with a wee cold :)
