Halls Soothers are medical sweets, which are used to help soothe sore throats. They are ideal for use before you get a cold when you get that horrible itchy feeling in your throat. They help to soothe it and generally help you feel better.

They come in two flavours:

- Blackcurrant
- Cherry

In each tube, you get 10 sweets and they cost around 48p, which isn't too bad considering they have their own effects. The tubes are white with the Soothers logo across them, which is tinted purple or red depending on the flavour. To the right side is an image of blackcurrants or cherries to distinguish between the flavours and the Halls logo is above.

The outside packaging is paper but the inside is foil, which keeps them fresh. The sweets are quite large and either purple or red in colour depending on the flavour. They have a hard outside but a soft inside. As you start sucking them (you aren't meant to chew them at all), you can just enjoy the fruity flavour but they have an ever so slight essence of medicine in them - they taste like medicine a bit.

As holes begin to form in the outer shell, you begin sucking through the soft liquid inside. If not, you eventually get to the liquid and as you swallow it, it helps to soothe your throat and make it feel better. They do actually work well but the effects don't last long after you finish a sweet so you'd have to be sucking them all day to feel alright, which would cost a lot!

I'd recommend them as they do a good job and definitely are satisfying because of this. They still taste nice and it's a comforting thing to have if you are feeling ill and have a sore throat.
