A good short-term solution for diarrhoea (Imodium Plus)

Imodium plus caplets have been designed by the manufacturers to stop diarrhoea. However, generally, for me, when I get diarrhoea it is usually because I've eaten something bad or I've picked up a bug from somewhere. In such cases, I want it out of my digestive system as quickly as possible. The last thing that I want to do is keep it sitting in my system.

However, there are times when I find that diarrhoea is really, really inconvenient. Maybe I have a really important meeting to attend or I'm half way up a mountain that I'm climbing. On such occasions, I just want to block up my digestive system so that I can function for a while. On those occasions, I have found that Imodium is ideal. I find that the tablets or caplets, as they are bizarrely called, are easy for me to swallow and they definitely seem to be very effective at blocking things up.

Imodium also contains some ingredient that reduces gas in the stomach and related areas, which can also help to give some relief from the discomfort that usually accompanies diarrhoea. Imodium is also supposed to help with other stomach aches. However, I wouldn't personally recommend Imodium for minor stomach problems. That would just be like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

The information on the packet advises that the medicine should not be taken for longer than two days and I think that is good advice unless you want to be completely blocked for days. Constipation is a real possibility if you take too many of these tablets.

All in all, I have found that it's a very effective product that can help you if you really need to carry on living your life as normal. Otherwise, I would suggest that you just let nature take it's course and keep drinking those fluids!
