My parents have long since sworn by Jakeman's menthol sweets if they ever have a cough or sore throat. I however once tried the variety that comes in a black bag and I thought that they were vile and nothing could persuade me to try any others. Then with my recent cold, I was suffering from a bad throat and my mum handed me a yellow sweet to soothe it without telling me the brand. It was fantastically soothing so when she told me it was a honey and lemon Jakeman's I had to take back all the nasty things I had thought about them! HELPING WITH MY SORE THROAT The Jakeman's sweets are not classed as a medicine so there isn't a recommended maximum ... Read the complete review

For the past 2 weeks I've had a sore dry throat that I just cant shake off. My throat sweet of choice has been Jakemans Honey and Lemon. Although not sugar free I find if sucked occasionally they are one of the best throat sweets available. I bought my Jakemans from my local Asda where a 100g will set you back just 58p. Jakemans Honey and Lemon are sold in a bag rather than a box or tube. The Honey and Lemon flavoured ones are sold in a yellow bag which has the Jakemans logo across the top and the flavour honey and lemon just below it. The front of the pack also informs the customer that these are soothing menthol sweets made with only the finest ingredients. ... Read the complete review

Having had a sore throat for more than a week now, I had run down my cupboard supplies of things that ease it. I am breastfeeding too so am limited as to what I can take so cough sweets are about as good as it gets around here. I usually go for honey and lemon lockets as you can buy them in a lot of shops and I know I like them. Today, I opted for something a little different with the Jakemans Honey & Lemon Menthol Sweets. I was shopping at an outlet and went in to a sweet shop where they had a whole shelf of cough and sore throat remedies... but I think I paid over the odds as their main line is imported sweets and small bags that they decant from jars. I ... Read the complete review

A few months ago I was struck down with a very painful sore throat and heavy cold which was brilliant timing as I was just about to go into hospital for jaw surgery. I tend not to really like most brands of throat sweets as I find the strong flavours far too intense and almost unbearable to eat. Then on a trip to Boots I spotted the bags of Jakemans soothing sweets among all of the cold and flu remedies and thought they would be worth a try as they looked quite old fashioned and the sort of thing my gran would buy, and it is often the old fashioned original remedies that are the best. Out of the flavours on offer I opted to try the Honey & Lemon Menthol ... Read the complete review

I have done a recent review on this brand of cough sweets as I bought more than one flavour in this brand at the time because they were on special offer, the one I am reviewing today is the Honey and Menthol flavour, I thought I would buy more than one because they were so cheap compared to some other brands and because they are individually wrapped and I could eat them as and when I needed them. These ones come in a yellow plastic bag of 100g for 55p but as they were on offer I only paid £1 for 2 bags and so made a little saving, as I said they are univocally wrapped in a plastic wrapper and are oval shape, these ones are a pale yellow colour and around an ...
