A very naughty six year old. "Danny" a nutty red setter puppy our pet whose behaviour mirrors my sons. Twelve hour shifts nursing and the mummy bit in between. My goodness do I need some stress relief. Rather than taking to the wine (well on occasion I have to confess I do partake in a glass or two)!! I was in my local Boots one day however and I spotted in the herbal section a rather attractive blue coloured box which when I picked it up discovered was a product called Kalms which promised to relieve periods of worry, irritability, stresses and strains. Perfect I thought as I put it in my basket and proceeded to the checkout.

Packaging

As previously mentioned this product comes in an attractive blue box. It has the wording Kalms tablets in navy blue and states that it contains 100 tablets. There is an explanation on the back of what the product is for and directions for use. In addition there are a few recommendations for safety and how to store. It also states the product ingredients. Inside there is a medicine type bottle containing the tablets. There is a safety seal and it is recommended that the tablets are not to be used if the seal has been broken. The lid is a screw top and can be turned relatively easily. The bottle that I purchased cost £4.09.

Product

This product is marketed as a traditional natural plant rememdy, which contains a blend of pure plant ingredients that brings welcome relief from the daily stresses and strains of modern living. In addition the tablets help to promote natural sleep, and can also bring relief to symptoms associated with the menopause including wakefulness, hot flushes and cold sweats!! The tablets are relatively small in size about half the size of a smartie and are white in colour. In addition they have a shiny sucrose coated shell which makes them very easy to swallow.

Directions for Use

These are simple to use. The manufacturers recommended dose are as follows. Adults to swallow two tablets three times a day with water and after meals. Please note that these tablets are unsuitable for those aged 12 years and under.

Warnings

These tablets should not be used if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. It is important that you check the ingredients before using the product as you may be allergic to some of them. Do not exceed the recommended dose


Results

I have to say that I used this product faithfully for a good few weeks and am quite sad to report that I did not notice any difference to my stress levels. Which I have to say was a huge disappointment. I also took these to try and induce a more relaxed sleep at night however I did not experience any difference in this department either. As far as the symptoms of menopause go I can't comment however I would be interested to know if anyone else has used these to help combat the symptoms of this condition purely from a professional perspective. Dissapointing 2 stars.
