Advantages: Soft and strong tissues, good quality, good value

Disadvantages: None in my experience

Having recently suffered from quite a nasty cold, I was fed up with constantly going from the cold outside to a warm shop upon which my nose would run incessantly and I would embarrassingly try and blow it out on a crumpled up piece of toilet roll. Needing some tissues, I browsed my local Wilkinsons store at the weekend, eager to find a pocket sized packet that would fit inside my handbag. Although there were a variety of branded tissues I turned to Kleenex, both because I knew they would provide quality tissues but also to provide some comfort to my increasingly sore red nose.

My Kleenex Balsam tissues came parcelled in a set of six packets with each packet containing nine tissues. The packets are brightly coloured with a mainly green body topped with a yellow and blue stripe and this means that they stand out from the depths of my handbag. The tissues contain balsam which is a protective balm containing calendula which is gentle on the nose. The packets open easily using a self seal opening on the top of the packet meaning that they stay fresh in my bag without picking up any traces of hair or crumbs that can so easily accumulate in my rather full handbag.

The tissues are neatly folded within the packet and pull easily out of the opening. Each tissue is white in colour and measures around 21cm x 21cm with each of the four edges neatly finished with a bobble edge detail. Although these tissues contain balsam, the scent of it is hardly recognisable and you can very faintly detect a hint of what can be described as a medicinal smell. It is the softness of these tissues that I love with each one feeling silky smooth against my skin. This means that they don't irritate my already bunged up nose. In addition to the softness, each tissue is very absorbable and strong and one can easily last for two long nose blows which means that they are very durable in my opinion.

I bought a six pack of these tissues from my local Wilkinsons and paid only £1. This means that each packet only cost 17p or to put it another way just under 2p per tissue. Although these tissues can cost up to the £1.79 mark in other stores, I feel that the quality and softness of these tissues more than makes them good value for money.

Overall I have been very impressed with the quality and absorbency of these tissues and I will certainly be buying them again in the future. The balsam has served to sooth my nose whilst the packets fit neatly inside my handbag between uses. I will therefore be recommending these tissues.

This product scores an excellent five stars from me.
