Advantages: brilliant for not making me look like Rudolf whilst I have a cold

Disadvantages: Cold's are annoying and cost worthy when getting through two-three boxes

So winter out the way, we actually have a box of tissues left for once, so spring must be in the air with all the colds and flu’s out the way, so I thought I would recommend the only box of tissues allowed within our household, especially during winter otherwise a certain Rudolf ends up with a shiny red nose for weeks on end, unless she uses these tissues and Vaseline intensive care moisturiser. Yes, I’m afraid Rudolf n this household just so happens to be me. So in this review, I will explain my brand of tissues to you, getting up close and personal (not too personal with those of you with colds, I don’t fancy using the whole box of tissues right at this moment in time thanks)

Packaging

The tissues themselves are in a box about five centimetres in height by so long in width. The box fits perfectly on the edge of my dining table. It’s a box with blends of blue, green and yellow of colours. On the top is an outline of a face. This face then continues onto the sides of the box. Around the bottom of the whole box is a line in a silver colour with blue rim underneath and Kleenex writing in the right hand corner of this Blue Ridge. The top section of the box is the part with an oval shape which you take out the tissues.

On the bottom of the box, in the top left hand corner, is the dermatological tested logo. In the middle at the top is the Kleenex logo. Underneath that area is a little rain drop with a statement saying with a protective balm containing calendula. Underneath that, are a few paragraphs explaining the balm on the tissues, the different sizes of tissues in the range, and when it is best to use these tissues (cough cough when you have colds or flu’s sorry for the coughing, I think my cold is coming back). There is also the web address underneath (see below) to the right hand corner is a rectangular box covering the last quarter of the bottom section of the box. In this box are all the details of the company, the ingredients within the protective balm, the appointment by her majesty logo (does anyone pay attention to this on a product can I ask please) there are also a few logos, one of which I don’t understand, a bin this rubbish sign, a recycle sign, and a sign saying which bin this box should go in if living in new Zealand, seeing as every piece of rubbish they have over there goes into a different numbered box to be recycled which I think is a great idea, but in this country, at the moment, we have enough land to waste with filling with rubbish for a while longer before doing that. Shame really.

Anyway, moving on, I will describe the tissues. Pulling one out, I can see these are all connected in such a way that when you pull one tissue out, you can then have half of the other come out with it. This means no fishing out tissues when you reach the bottom of the box…thank god for this invention of the tissue companies. Pulling a tissue out, I can feel the texture of the tissue which feels soft to the touch and rubbing it gently against my skin, around my nose, it feels silky and smooth. No more red rough patches on my skin. Each tissue has three layers to it, all of which I find don’t come undone properly, which means no more coming apart, which means no pulling out three thin tissues at a time. Just one silky tissue rubbing against that gentle smooth skin of yours. Each tissue is white, and in this box, there are 90 tissues all 21cm by 20cm. this will last me a week without a cold, and two, three days with a cold. I find this brilliant value, and help me at times I need them most.

The liquid test

The liquid test is either running them under a tap and seeing how long they last, and they don’t last that long, so I don’t advise mopping up spillages or any sort of beverage spilt with these but then again, you have kitchen roll for that, and tissues are meant for blowing your nose. You know, making that huge elephant noise which scares the hell out of everyone when the room has gone quiet while watching your soap finish on a cliff-hanger. Yes, that is the reason you have tissues. For colds, I find these tissues pretty strong and they still last a long time which is brilliant. They don’t break as easily when they cope with the snot.

Conclusion

Overall, I thoroughly like these tissues, and as much as I hate colds, these tissues come in useful when I need them most. They are kind to my skin and are good value for what they are. They help prevent my Rudolf nose, they also help me prevent being called Rudolf, but they are brilliant quality. Overall, a ten out of ten from me, seeing as I don’t care so much about the liquid failure seeing as I have kitchen roll for spillages of all kinds.

Available at: all good supermarkets in cube boxes, travel packets (for you people on the go) regular, like me, or for all you manly guys out there, mansize. The twin packs of the regular average around £2.50-£3 and are brilliant on BOGOF offers, the travel packs average around 70p-£1 for a pack of two packs containing 9 tissues in each pack, or for a pack of 12 packs, which becomes so much cheaper they average around £1.70-£2. For a pack of mansize tissues, they average around £3-£3.40 for a twin pack and once again are brilliant on BOGOF offers. As I never buy the cube version of this range, I couldn’t tell you the price of this seeing as I never see them down my local Asda. Sorry guys, but if you search around, you might be able to find out how much they are.

Thanks for reading
