Unfortunately I have been suffering from a nasty summer cold over this last week which has made me feel utterly miserable. I tend to try and surround myself with comfy and luxurious things like a mug of hot chocolate, a nice big fluffy throw and a box of Kleenex balsam tissues.

Now I know that some of you out there will think I am insane to spend money on expensive tissues just to blow my nose on them but believe me, when you suffer from hay fever on a regular basis and you've had a horrendous summer cold for the past 4 days, a red dry flaky nose is not a good look and makes me even more depressed about missing out on the nice weather we've been having lately.

The tissues come in a nice bright yellow and green box and contain approx 90 x 3ply tissues. I like the feel of the nice thick tissues and being three ply, well let's say they hold a lot! (ahem). The tissues contain calendula oil and mineral oil as well as liquid paraffin to help soothe and prevent your poor nose from drying out or getting chaffed and red and I have to say, from firsthand experience, they really do work.

I was unfortunate enough to develop my hideous cold over the period of 7 hours at work where the only options I had available to me where the normal pocket pack of generic tissues that I always keep in my handbag or resort to the pain of using scratchy toilet tissue. After 7 hours of sniffing and blowing my poor nose was glowing red and looking very sore, the first think I did when leaving work was to go direct to the chemist and buy a bumper back of Lemsip and 2 boxes of balsam tissues.

The individual pack of tissues were approx £2.00 per box but if you get them in a two pack you can get a bit of a discount. They also come in 6 pocket pack packets which are handy to carry about in your bag especially if you have hayfever and need to reach for the tissues every now and again, without lugging a giant box around with you.

Even after I'd already developed a beacon like nose, these really helped to soothe my skin and helped prevent it getting any worse, by the next day my nose was pretty much back to its normal colour! I would really recommend these to anyone suffering from a cold or hayfever, they really make a difference to me.
