Advantages: Soft tissues for a runny sore nose
Disadvantages: expensive
It's that time of year that people always seem to get ill and after a few days with M having a chest infection, he seems to have passed the cold part onto me and I have a constant runny nose. I'm glad that when I did a quick run round Tesco last week that I grabbed some Kleenex Balsalm Tissues. I do tend to buy these a lot, mostly because they are Kleenex and because they were something new to try when they came out. They retail in Tesco for £1.63 but you can buy a twin pack for £2.90 and at the moment you are getting 75 extra clubcard points. So what is so special about these tissues compared to other ones. These ones contain a soothing balm which means that they stop your nose from getting sore with lots of blowing. The tissue is about 20cm by 21cm and is 3ply making it a bit thicker than some tissues. They are also very soft and you do feel the difference when you blow your nose. The smoothness of the tissue really makes it easier to blow your nose and it is soft instead of hurting your nose due to all the blowing that you so. Tesco Direct recently sent us their own Mansized tissues instead of these and that was a huge disappointment as they were rough and not so good at how often you could use it to blow. It also felt wet. I have noticed with the balsalm ones that you can blow your nose without it all seeping through (sorry too much info). The Balsalm tissues are in a usual sort of Kleenex box but instead of being the usual shades of blue this box is mostly green with a shade of yellowy-green at one end. and the typical blue at the other end. If you look carefully on the box, you can see the outline of a side on fave with the nose marked out in white! The box holds roughly around 90 tissues. The tissues easily come out of the box and you do have to be careful to watch that you don't pull more than one tissue out at a time! At the moment Kleenex are offering THE BEAR ESSENTIALS to help you survive the wint
er. You save the ovals from when you open the box and then you can claim a free bear along with an essentials pack which includes, various cold rememdies samples and hankies as well as vouchures and samples of fruit teas and hot chocolate. Unfortunately the hot chocolate is galaxy, just before you all get excited. You need a minimum of 4 ovals and 56p postage to be able to claim the bears! You would be best checking out a promotional pack. I have 1/2 a box left so will have to pop to the shops and buy some more soon. I would definately recommend these if you have children as M loves these tissues to wipe his nose but if you try using a different tissue he knows the difference and gets upset! They are more expensive but they are worth that extra few pence!
