Advantages: Good for symptoms of cold or flu
Disadvantages: Not good if you hate lemon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LEMSIP ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lemsip have for a long time been a very trusted name in products offering relief from cold and flu. They now make loads of different products, however I tend to stick to the original lemsip.
Packaging
~~~~~~
Lemsip is sold in a green and yellow cardboard box. The box contains either 5 or 10 individual sachets. It clearly states loads of useful information about the product, and can be recycled.
The product
~~~~~~~~
Upon opening the individual sachet, you are immediately hit with the lemon scent. It is not overpowering, but strong all the same. Inside the sachet it no more than a tea-spoon full of off white/lemon powder.
How to use
~~~~~~~
Pour one sachet of powder into an average sized mug and fill with hot water. Stir until all the powder is disolved and drink while hot.
The drink tastes quite bitter and strong like lemon, so sweetners or honey may be added for sweetness.
Adults and children over the age of 12 may take 1 sachet every four hours, and not more than 6 sachets in 24 hours.
Children under 12 should not be given this product. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or are taking medictaion it is recommended to seek medical advise before taking Lemsip.
Ingredients
~~~~~~~
Lemsip contains mostly paracetamol and vitamin C. It also contains, castor sugar, pulverised sucrose, citric acid, sodium citrate, lemon roller dried, lemon flavour, aspartame, menthol, salt and curcummin.
What is it good for?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lemsip is recommended for treating the symptoms of cold and flu, including fever, headache, sore throat.
Conclusion
~~~~~~~
I swear by Lemsip. I am aware it is not a wonder cure but I have been using it for years to combat the symptoms of flu right from when the symptoms appear. I would recommend this product to anyone who can take it and who does not mind the lemon taste.
Lemsip is available from all pharmacies and supermarkets. It costs around £1.60 for a pack of 10 and is also available in tablet form.
Summary: A great way of feeling better quicker!
