Advantages: Makes you feel better

Disadvantages: Can't take if you have heart disease high blood pressure

I've been feeling awful since I came down with a cold (quite quickly) on Friday after work. I'd been tired all week and I think that's why I surcummed to a cold. As per usual, it's totally knocked me.

Having searched through cupboards I couldn't find any Lemsip or other cold remedies and felt so rough yesterday that I couldn't be bothered to drive to town to get some. So I sat with a box of tissues and rode it out. Only this morning I felt even worse. So as Dad was going to the supermarket I asked him to pick up a box of Lemsip for me.

As soon as he got back, I opened the box, grabbed a sachet and poured it into a mug followed by some hot water. I let it cool down and then drank the lemony goodness. Now, all of a sudden, I feel much better! Sure, my nose is still sniffly and my voice crackles every now and then, but I don't feel as rough as I did when I got up this morning. I rarely take medication (I'm not so good with pill etc), but I always trust Lemsip.

Lemsip Cold & Flu (Lemon) comes in a box of 10 sachets. It's for headache, fever, blocked nose, bode aches & pains and a sore throat. Basically, for the relief of the symptoms of colds & flu.

To use Lempsip, you pour 1 sachet into a mug and fill it with hot (but not boiling) water, then stir until the powder has dissolved. Then sip/drink. The box says you can sweeten with sugar, honey or another sweetener, if you prefer (although I never feel the need to do this).

1 sachet is to be taken every 4 to 6 hours as required, but no more than 4 sachets within 24 hours. It is not to be given to children under 12 years old.

Lemsip contains paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride, sucrose and aspartame.

Summary: Lemsip eases the symptoms of colds and flu
