Advantages: easy to use

Disadvantages: most the flavours are yuk and its over priced

Sat here with my cup of Lemsip and decided to review it. I am currently cosuming Lemsip cold and flu soother in wild berry & hot orange flavour.

I absolutely detest the hot lemon lemsip as it taste like sherbert made with sweetner and always turns my stomach, the blackcurrant one isn't much better either, therefore I always had to hold my nose when consuming Lemsip until I discovered this one. I love it, its still a little harsh, but its medicine, its not meant to be pleasent!! However saying that its easily drinkable.

The packet claines that its for headache, fever, blocked nose, body aches and pains and sore throat. Well my symptoms are runny nose!! The aches and pains, a slightly sore throat but terrible cough and wheeziness!! But something has got to help!

I did have one yesterday and it did seem to improve matters, although it made me feel better initially I seemed to be much worse afterwards and thats when my nose started to run, but guessing its just my cold progressing and maybe the lemsip is clearing my system and it has to come out some how? Or is that just positive thinking?

Lemsip is simple to make up you just pour it into a mug and pour on hot but not boiling water and you can have one every 4 hours, its not suitable for children. It contains 650g of paracetamol which is equivalent to just over 2 paracetamol capsules, and then it contains phenylephrine hydrochloride which is a decongestant. It also includes artificial sweetners.
All in all its not a bad product but you are probably better making your own honey and lemon drink using fresh ingrediants and then popping a couple of paracetamol - much cheaper and as effective.

Summary: mix some honey, lemon and hotwater and take 2 paracetamols, much more effective!
