Take the edge off (Lemsip)

Advantages: Found in most shops, effective, tastes nice

Disadvantages: Does not work miricles and not the cheapest.

Much to my annoyance I seem to have a cold in summer so I'm using Lemsip to take the edge off. Lemsip contains both anti-inflamitories and pain killers so it can releave headaches and blocked noses.

Lemsip comes in a wide variety. You can get sachets to create a drink in the flavours lemon and blackcurrent. I find these quite nice and it also ensures you are taking in fluids. You could also get capsules though if you do not like the drinks. Finally there is also Lemsip max strength which contains different amounts of the medication.

The good thing about Lemsip is you can find it everywhere, though its not the cheapest brand. However it does not perform miricles as there is no cure for the common cold. If your cold isn't too bad then your symptoms are likely to be reduced however if it's a bad one like mine it may only just take the edge off a bit. Either way it can help ease your discomfort and help you get a good nights sleep.

Summary: Lemsip is effective but it will depend on how bad your cold is.
