**Introduction**

In this freezing cold weather we are experiencing at the moment there are many people picking up cold and flu symptoms. I for one have just picked up a bad case of cold from my mother and have a really bad sore throat which led me to getting something to help soothe my throat. I knew just the thing that would help so I braved the cold and walked down the road to the local newsagents to pick up a packet of Lockets. After a few seconds searching around the sweets and chocolate I saw the Lockets at the bottom of the stand and put a packet in my basket and walked towards the counter to pay for my items.

**Lockets**

Lockets are available in two flavours. Blackcurrant and the one which I choose which was Honey and Lemon. You will find 10 of these medicated sweets in each pack and the price is usually around 70p, I paid 69p for my pack. If you have a blocked nose or a sore throat these will help to soothe your symptoms. I feel it is also important to have a decent flavour as you would not like to have them if they tasted horrible would you, thankfully they are pretty nice tasting with a nice blend of Honey and Lemon with a syrupy medicated centre which oozes out. They also work pretty quickly and you will feel much better after one pack.

**Additional information**

It is advised that you do not exceed the stated limit of three packs a day for adults as possible side effects from exceeding the stated dose can result in headaches and stomach upsets which is no good so just stick to a couple of packs. They can also be given to children but in a smaller dose of course than adults. Lockets are widely available in just about every newsagents up and down the country and in supermarkets and chemists. They are a great alternative to some more expensive over the counter treatments that don't taste as good.

**Overall**

So do they work?? well I put the first sweet into my mouth just before starting this review and I have already felt a difference. Although my throat is still sore it is certainly soothing compared to earlier on today, It's not totally gone but by the end of the pack I should be feeling so much better. If you have not tried this yet and have a cold coming on then step in with these and you will feel much better in no time. Oh and with the choice of two tasty flavours Honey and Lemon and Blackcurrant you will find one that best suits you. Lockets are an easy alternative to trips to the chemist for over the counter medicines.
