Advantages: 12 hours instant relief, wonderful
Disadvantages: Price
Those of you that suffer from heartburn will relate to this review and those of you that don't - you are sooooo lucky. It seems like whatever I eat, as soon as it reaches my stomach that little devil sets light to it and sends it soaring back up to cause me as much discomfort as possible. I can almost hear him striking the match and laughing as he does so - alright maybe it's not the sound of him laughing I can hear! We'll say no more about that! I can even get heartburn when I haven't eaten anything, just had a cup of tea. It seems to come in bouts where it is chronic for about a week and then the symptoms may go for a couple of weeks. It always returns to plague me again though.
A bit about Heartburn
******************
Heartburn is also known as Acid Indigestion or Acid Reflux and it is a horrible burning sensation in your throat area. It is nothing to do with the heart as it suggests but is a digestive problem. Acid is present in the stomach to digest food. Heartburn occurs when small amounts of this acid rise up into the gullet (oesophagus) - the tube which carries food from the mouth to the stomach. This is called reflux. The gullet, unlike the stomach, does not have a protective lining. So when it is exposed to the acid, it can become inflamed and painful.

Pepcidtwo
When I saw Pepcidtwo in my local Tesco and read the box, it said "12 hours relief" and although you only get 6 or 12 chewable tablets in a box the thought of putting out that fire for 12 hours tempted me to buy them, and boy do they work! Each tablet gives you immediate long-lasting relief, either all day or all night.
The tablets contain an antacid which neutralises acid within 2 minutes and an acid balancer which reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces for up to 12 hours.
They come in boxes of 6, 12 and 24:-
Box of 6 approximately £2.30
Box of 12 approximately £3.90
Box of 24 approximately £6.99
So obviously the bigger the box the better value they are.
They are quite expensive compared to ordinary heartburn remedies and I tend to use
the ordinary e.g. Rennies or supermarket own brand remedies if its just
uncomfortable and save the Pepcidtwo's for when he's building a bonfire!
At the moment you can get a 40p off coupon if you visit www.pepcidtwo.co.uk.
For side effects I have put "medium" - personally I have not experienced any but as usual you should always read the leaflet enclosed in the box which gives you all
the information about the product and its suitability to you as an individual.
I'm off to find the box now, I can feel him getting ready to make me suffer again!
Summary: Gets rid of heartburn for a whole 12 hours!
