Advantages: None for me.
Disadvantages: Didn't work for me.
This product is designed to give relief from heartburn and indigestion. It is supposed to give instant relief for 12 hours but I have not found it to be fast, or effective.
I suffer from bouts of indigestion and heartburn that can be the result of overeating, drinking, or even just eating a piece of fruit, or something sweet and sugary. There is no telling when my digestive system might decide that it has had enough and react accordingly.
The worst thing of the lot for sparking this off is coffee (but not always!) Anyway, when I get pain and burning from this it is severe and I need help instantly. These symptoms will last, on and off for week, then go away.
This product doesn't give me any relief and I have to resort to bottles of Asilone, or Bisodol tablets before I get even a small amount of relief.
Pepcid 2 costs £2.39 for 6 tablets and I certainly wouldn't buy them again. Perhaps they just don't suit me, or my needs because I found that I felt sick after taking them and had a raging headache.
The leaflet inside the pack cautions against taking these for more than a week (as if you could afford to) and states that the side effects are 'medium'.
The maximum dose is four per day but check the instructions and warnings if you intend to try these.
I have gone back to using Zantac which usually works after a short time and the problem tends to stay away for around 8 hours.
Perhaps a better solution would be to avoid foods that cause this problem, but that's boring.
Summary: No good for me but I have heard good reports by other people.
