Advantages: Does do the job in time
Disadvantages: Horrid smell, caused a rash even when instructions were followed
In many aspects of life such as exercising, lifting things at work or just generally putting strain on my back, I have begun to develop quite frequent pains on my back, particularly on my lower back and on the shoulder blades. Someone recommended that I tried Deep Heat to relieve the pain, so I bought myself a can and tried it.
Packaging and price
-------------------------
The can comes as a stand alone aerosol can and contains 100g or 150ml of Deep Heat spray. The can is mostly covered in red to reflect the heat with flame like italics for the logo and a small summary in yellow of the uses of Deep Heat. I paid £2.42 for the spray, which was reasonable, but the rub was cheaper and according to other reviews may be much better than the spray.
Following the instructions I got my brother to spray some on my back from quite far away. The smell of the spray was really potent and strong, and managed to get into my throat, which felt like I was being choked to death. The smell was also really strong and I did not like it at all. Things were made only worse when the spray managed to turn my back into a tomato coloured rash. I tried to wash it off with cold water, but that did little, so I just had to sit through and endure the stinging sensations.
However, after it began to settle the pain started to go away, and actually it did relieve the pain I had quite a bit, but for all that it was worth to apply it and go through the chesty cough and stinging pain, it is not always worth it. There are many other similar products out in the same market, and if my pain continues I will more than likely buy another brand instead in the form of a cream, because the negatives of deep heat really do outweigh all the positives in my opinion.
Overall
---------
I really didn't enjoy using this product, it caused more problems than it solved, and in future I would either buy another brand or the cream they sell. If you managed to get this on your face or into your eyes when applying near the neck, then god help you.
Thanks for reading
Summary: Not recommended, maybe a better product for police interrogation instead....

- 01/10/09 I was willing to try it the pain at the time was very bad, but I didn't think the smell would be that bad. |

- 01/10/09 I always think you must be in a bad way to use this, because the smell is so bad. |
