I've suffered from dry eye syndrome for some time now but since using this eye bag I've at last found something which enormously helps this very irritating condition.
After I was diagnosed with dry eye syndrome (blepharitis), some months ago, I have been struggling to follow the rigorous routine prescribed by the opthalmologist. This entailed (amongst other things ) bathing the eyes with a hot flannel for ten minutes twice a day. As the flannel gets cold very quickly you are constantly re-soaking your flannel in the hot water and reapplying. The hygiene aspect of using a flannel worried me too - though I did sterilise it in the microwave quite frequently.
Then I saw an advert for the Lumecare MGDR Eye Bag and life has become so much easier. The eye bag is very well made and has a velvet side and a smooth side. It contains lots of little flax seeds which retain microwave heat for some time.
You simply place the eye bag in a dish and pop it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, give it a little shake around, then sit or lie down and relax with the bag over your eyes. After this you gently massage your eyelids from the inner to the outer area and your eyes feel so much better. The more you use the mask the better you feel and the microwave action destroys any bacterial accumulation on the bag.
I tend to microwave slightly longer than 30 seconds as by the time you sit or lie down the bag is just ready to apply. Even so - do test it on the inside of your arm before placing over the eyes. I start with the velvet side and then turn it over - give it a little shake and use the smooth side.
The Eye bag is good for Dry Eye Syndrome but it can also be used to soothe any sort of eye discomfort such as styes, tiredness or having had something irritate the eye.
It comes with a free tube of Lumecare Tear Gel which is recommended for dry eyes and a very good explanatory leaflet which you should read carefully before using the Eye Bag.
Instructions do say that when the Eye Bag starts to lose its ability to retain the heat then you should replace it. However I have had mine for over 3 months now and its still working very well.
This is an excellent product which makes life so much easier for eye condition sufferers and it really does the job.
