Neroli (Orange Blossom)

For the past six months I have getting into aromatherapy and essential oils. I find them both fascinating and extremely useful. Recently I have been using Neroli, an oil which is known as many other things, such as orange blossom or citrus aurantium. ~~What exactly is Neroli??~~ Neroli was discovered by the Romans in the 1600’s. Neroli Absolute Essential oil is made from orange blossom. The perfume is soft, floral, 'middle note,' so its not heavy like sandalwood and patchouly but not sharp and fresh like lemon, or lime either. Orange blossom flowers are used to produce this higher priced oil (high price in comparison with lavender and lemon, for example). It is high priced because of the huge quantity of orange blossom needed to extract a small quantity of the oil by solvent extraction.
