Advantages: No need for water

Disadvantages: They don't work!

Aaaaaachhhhhoooooooooo! Aaaachoooo! Aaaachooo! Aaaachooooooooo!

Yes, I suffer from hay fever.

As soon as the sun begins to shine, the birds start to sing and the flowers pop up, I turn into a dribbling nosed, watering eyed, sneezing wreck.

Over the years I've tried quite a few different remedies for my hay fever.

Eye drops, nose sprays, once a day tablets, three times a day tablets. I've had them all. So have I found a cure? No.

This year I was taking the same tablets that I have been taking for the last couple of years(Claratin). They tend to stop my sneezing and runny eyes & nose, but result in my nose just being completely blocked.

Anyway, being the busy (or unorganised) man that I am I ran out of tablets and didn't have time to get to the doctor to renew my prescription. So I paid a visit to my local chemist to see what they had.

I found their homeopathic remedy section and saw "New Era Tissue Salts For Hay fever & Allergic Rhinitis ". Catchy name I thought. I'd tried everything else, so why not give these a go?

On reading the label I discovered that you should take four tablets three times a day. If needed this can be increased to every half hour. So, for the next few weeks I took the tablets.

At first I took just the four tablets three times daily. But before long I was taking the maximum dosage of four tablets every half hour.

The tablets don't really taste of much, you just dissolve them on your tongue. No need for a glass of water. Which is nice, but and it's a big but. They didn't work!

No, they may be cheap, you may get loads of the wee pills in one packet and they might fizz nicely on you tongue, but they don't stop the onslaught of evil pollen particles.

Maybe I'm being too harsh though. I do have pretty bad hay fever, so it is possible that these tablets just weren't strong enough for me and may
very well work for you. However this is my opinion and for me these tablets just did nothing.

I like the idea of homeopathy. But from my experience with these tablets, I think it's just a load of nonsense. My advice? Don't waste your money, visit your doctor and get some proper tablets and if they don't work go and lie in a darkened room and stay there till the winter!

I should add that I'm a fan of homeopathy and recommend the 'New Era Comb D for Minor Skin Ailments' however the hayfever ones did nothing for me either.

Very useful, I've often wondered about homeopathic tabs for hayfever but now I won't bother wasting my money.
