Advantages: None for me.

Disadvantages: I found it very hard to get rid of a "drugged" feeling the next day.

I went through a really bad phase a while back of waking early, even though actually *getting* to sleep was never a real problem.

As I hate taking medicine of any kind (although I'm a little less paranoid about it these days) I was not in a hurry to try any kind of tablet. Finally desperation drove me to the point where I would have tried almost anything!

I tried the herbal version, which sounded relatively innocuous, or at very least more "natural". It contains Hops, Dogwood Jamaica, Wild Lettuce, Passiflora and Pulsatilla, as well as the ubiquitous sucrose and lactose

Wild Lettuce! Remember the start of "Peter Rabbit"? Apparently it has a "very soporific effect" on bunnies....

Being naturally very wary of all medicines, herbal or otherwise, I decided I was only going to take half a dose, which was one tablet only.

As usual I got to sleep, but even on half a dose had a horrible time actually waking up the next day. I once made the major mistake of taking piriton after drinking alcohol (prohibited!) and that experience was the closest to how I felt in the morning - drugged, persistently drowsy and fuzzy-headed.

Needless to say I'm not a fan of it, and the bottle has since remained untouched in the medicine cabinet. Reading other opinions, it semms to work really well for some people, but, like most things, be aware that it may not suit you.

In my case, I guess you could say it worked *too* well! I think I'll follow Peter Rabbit's example and stick to lettuce!

Summary:
