Advantages: Gets you to sleep

Disadvantages: None

I occasionally use Nitol if I am having trouble falling off to sleep. Rather than toss and turn for hours I take a Nitol tablet (I use the one a night pack) and within 20 minutes or so I am falling off to sleep. Nitol also produce a herbal variety, but as I have not tried these I can offer no opinion.

Although I would not advocate overuse of any sleeping aid, I much prefer to use Nitol to "ordinary" sleeping tablets, as I have found with Nitol I wake up feeling refreshed, whereas with sleeping tablets I feel as though I'm clawing my way out of a deep pit when morning comes, and have great trouble shaking off the sleepiness.

Nitol appears to help you get to sleep, but you can wake up easily. I have taken sleeping tablets in the past and worried whether I would be able to wake up in an emegency.

A very good addition to the medicine cabinet, but not to be used for longer than 3 nights at a time.

My mum found Nytol really useful, but I quite definitely didn't. They made me feel incredibly ill. I spent the whole night shaking with numb legs, but couldn't sleep. I then spent the next week with an appalling headache. I know lots of people find these great, but if you are the sort of person who reacts to 'drugs' (painkillers make me feel 'stoned') you should probably only take them when there is someone else in the house with you.
