Advantages: Good pain relief which works quickly and effectivly.
Disadvantages: Expensive at £2.50 for 12 pills.
Since I was around 13, I have once a month got terrible stomach pains, headache, and generally feeling rubbish and just not wanting to do anything...for the obvious reason! I had always used Paracetamol to rid me of these pains, but it never really worked all that well, it would relieve the headache but the rest of the pain would remain making it very uncomfortable to do anything.
But one day when I was in school, my friend gave me two of these as I had none of my own with me and I was in pain, and I was surpised that round 15 minutes later my stomach was feeling much much better, and I could get on with the rest of my day. For months I paid £3 for a small pack of Nurofen which wouldn't last all that long when you have them in your school blazer pocket and are constantly giving them out to friends with headaches, stomach ache, back ache whatever else they might have!! So the price was something which put me off the pills, but I thought they were the only thing to rid me of my period pains so I kept giving the money. Until one day I decided enough was enough, I was fed up of paying a stupid amount of money for 8-16 pills, and so decided to buy 32p Ibuporphen, not really expecting too much but wanting to try them anyway. A couple of weeks later the pains came around and I took two of the ibuporphen, and low and behold, the pains went. Turns out it was nothing to do with the name brand Nurophen, but the Ibuporphen within the pills which was easing the pain.
Nurophen is a brand name pain relief which contains analgestic ibuporphen, there are many different types of Nurofen, these are: Nurofen Plus, Nurofen Zavance, Nurofen Forte, Nurofen Cold & Flu, Nurofen for Children, and Nurofen Tension Headache, all of these contain the same Ibuporphen whilst some contain other active ingredients alongside (i.e. the cold and flu contains non-sedating decongestant pseudoephedrine.
Nurophen is for pain relief such as: headache, period pain, toothache, aches and pains, and arthritic pain. And each pack contains around 12 pills for £2.50 depending on where you buy it from.
If your a big "fan" of nurophen, I really do recommend you try Ibuporphen whcih is 32p for 16 pills from the likes of Asda and Tesco. For me they worked in the same way as Nurophen and did the trick of relieving my pain!
Nurophen is a great pain relief, and it does work in the way its supposed to work, but the price is what puts me off!!!!!!!!!!!
Summary: I'd try the cheaper kind if your a Nurophen user! :-)
