For years I convinced myself the recurrent bouts of red eyes I seemed to get each summer were just coincidental recurring mild eye infections and 'not hay-fever' until last year, when my eyes, again, were red and watery and generally irritated, and I saw a bottle of Opticrom "hay-fever' eyedrops in Sainbury's and a small light bulb must have came on above my head. After thinking "hmm.. I wonder if this IS actually hay-fever", I thought it was worth buying a pack just to test out the theory- the worse that could happen was nothing- my eyes would still stay red and watery and puffy feeling. I paid £6.29 for this pack- but this is reasonable ... Read the complete review

I always get hay fever at this time of year but this year its been really bad, not sneezing so much as problems with my eyes. They have been itchy and red and driving me bonkers. My friend recommended I try Opticrom eye drops, to be honest I had never heard of them but I was so fed up with itchy eyes I bought some. The Packaging The eye drops are sold in a little box which is manly blue in colour, It has Opticrom Hay fever eye drops written across two sides of the box where it also informs the customer that these are for the relief of itching, redness, soreness and watering. It also states that the eye drops contain Sodium Cromoglicate. The instructions ... Read the complete review

I suffer from awful hayfever and other allergies, not just in the summer, but right through the year. I usually take Beconase Nasal spray to relieve the congestion and wheeziness I get (very rarely have much sneezing) but it didn't really work on my eyes. Then I discovered Opticrom and it is something that I cannot do without when the itching gets bad. Opticrom comes in a little bottle with a dropper attached and is easy to use. It has an active ingredient called Sodium Cromoglicate 2% w/v, and also contains Benzalkonium Chloride, Disodium Edetate and Water. To use it all you need to do is gently squeeze 1 or 2 drops into each eye, 4 times a day. I ... Read the complete review

I know that the hay fever peak season seems a long way off at the moment with the current temperatures low enough to freeze my windscreen every morning but Opticrom is an excellent product for treating other eye inflammations as well although like most people I tend to use it most of the time to treat hay fever. Opicrom contains Sodium Cromoglicate and is an excellent eye drop for providing relief for itchy eyes caused by allergic reactions to pollen or dust. It comes in either a small 5ml or 10ml size bottles which are clear plastic and a screw top lid. Inside there is an eye drop aperture for allowing the drops to fall from and this is very effective as only ... Read the complete review

If my mother had taken out shares in Kleenex tissues when I was a child, she’d probably be a millionaire by now! I have suffered with allergies all my life, particularly hayfever, rhinitis and a reaction to house dust mite. For years I suffered in silence – well not actually silence, more like a fanfare of trumpets from constant nose blowing. Then the doctors started giving me anti histamine tablets, followed by nasal sprays. These did work, but the nasal sprays had to be taken regularly, and the tablets took a while to work. A particular problem was the snot that would pour forth after having a bath/shower. This is very annoying when you are 18 ... Read the complete review
