Advantages: Quickly soothes itchy, red, puffy eyes

Disadvantages: none

It`s coming to the time of year that all hayfever suffer`s dont like and being a hayfever sufferer myself I am planning on heading to the GP to get my usual hayfever medication which includes Opticrom eyedrops, Rhinocourt nasal spray and Triludan tablets.

Without the Opticrom eyedrops I dont know what I would do during the summer months, they are absolutely execellent.

What are the drops used for?

Opticrom eyedrops are used for eye allergies, hayfever, dust mites and pet hairs. Opticrom is available both on prescription and over the counter at most chemists. (not sure of the price as I get mine on prescription)

Opticrom eyedrops come either in 5ml (125 drops) or 10ml (250 drops) bottles it is used to give relief to itchy, red puffy eyes.

The box is small and is blue and white in colour, with opticrom wrote on the front of the packaging in white lettering, included in the box is the eyedrops and instruction on how to use.

Some of the ingredients include:

Sodium cromoglyrate BP 2.0%
Benalkomium chloride
Disodiumedetate
Purified water

How to use the eyedrops

Use 1 - 2 drops in each eye per day
Wash hands
Use a mirror to help you see what you are doing
Pull lower eyelid down and them carefully place 1 or 2 drops inside your eyelid
Close your eye and blink a few times to make sure your eye is covered.
Repeat this process on the other eye

You might feel a stinging sensation in your eyes, but this should only last for a short time, if it persists contact your GP.

Every year without fail I use these drops and they are excellent, they provide quick relief from the usual hayfever symptoms, the only bad point is that it is slightly awkward putting eyedrops in yourself but it is well worth it, I would highly recommend these to all hayfever sufferers

Summary: good relief from the usual hayfever symptoms

I used to use these eyedrops before I started wearing contact lenses - can you still use it whilst wearing lenses?
