Just had Bi-Lateral Intralase LASIK with Wavefront at Optimax in Southampton, the surgeon was Mr Ayoubi. Had my assessment yesterday morning and the procedure 2 hours later. Straight away I could see and read posters but had fuzzy sight and initial slight discomfort then 2 hours later real lip chewing pain but they give you anistheic eyedrops which sort that out! Went to bed early and woke at 6 - no fuzziness and sharp vision!! Had my aftercare check at 11am - 19 hours after the procedure and I am pretty much 20/20 and your eyes get better over the next 1-2 weeks as they recover so I fully expect to have way above 20/20 in due course. So far very impressed, last nights pain/discomfort was worth it in spades.

Hi I originally went to one of Optimax's competitors, but during the consultation I felt like I was on a conveyor belt, no real personal sevice and avoided the "risk" questions. Couple months later I went to Optiimax at Canary Wharf in London for a consultation. Very personal, very thorough and gave detailed explanation ... Read the complete review

I had a free consultancy at the Croydon Optimax branch today and I was appalled by the service I received and will be writing to their head office. I certainly will not go ahead with treatment. The two ladies had a strong accent which I could not understand ( I realise this does not make them less qualified). The guy that did the main tests including putting my eye drops in was not rude, however he rushed the whole thing and nearly ripped my head off when he abruptly pulled away a couple of the machines. The lady who at the end gave me the prices, spoke so quicky I could not understand her, she also seemed impatient with me as I could not understand her. She pushed so hard for me to go for the dearest option. I will put the whole thing off and wont go back.

I wore glasses from the age of twelve. As most with short-sight, one of my parents also required corrective lenses, as did both of my sisters. From 17, I switched to contact lenses, along with the arrival of my drivers licence. I had no trouble with them, and had only one infection that I can remember in all the years I wore them. Even when ... Read the complete review

I had my treatment on 20 October 2007, I'm never going to forget that day! I had my consultation at around lunchtime, which involved some eye tests and a thorough examination by the surgeon. I gave my eye history, and explained that I was fed up of having to wear contact lenses & glasses. After I was told that I was a suitable ... Read the complete review

I had mine done in London in Feb 06. I went for the ICL, and the treatment was done in Colindale. This involved implanting a lense in the eye, and the the results have been great. Since the operation i have never had any problems at all, and my eye sight is still very good.
Based on my experience, well recommended!!

I used to work for OPTIMAX LASER EYE SPECIALISTS. They pay very very poorly a receptionist/ laser assistant was expected to work for sometimes 50hrs a week for 11,000 per annum with no lunch breaks and the management in head office are very rude and they bully you, you do not get paid sick pay. They also let very inexperienced members ... Read the complete review

Date of consultation and operation: 02/10/2006 I am a 43 year old male, born in England and still living in the UK. I have needed glasses since the age of 15 as I realised at that age that I could not see the blackboard, or bus numbers as they approached (the buses not the blackboards). I started wearing contact lenses ... Read the complete review

I was sixteen (I’m 34 now) when I first started wearing glasses. Discovering that I actually needed glasses was a weird and uplifting experience that I will never forget. It was a lovely, hot summer day and I was in the park with my friend, who was just off to the optician to have her annual check-up. I didn’t realise she even wore glasses, she ...
