I often have quite dry tired eyes, for any number of reasons - hayfever, eye strain, smoky athmosperes, all these things leave my eyes feeling gritty and horrible, and not only do my eyes feel irritated, but I do too.

It was my dad that recommended I start using eye drops - he uses them regularly, as he (for some odd reason) sleeps with his eyes open, leaving them dry and itchy. He'd always used Optrex, so I decided that as a recommended product, I'd give them a go too, opting for the Eyedew version .

I'll admit, I was tempted by the pretty packaging - while everything else looked very trustworthy and sensible, they all looked boring and clinical in design, whereas the box for this was all kinds of shades of blue in a starburst design, with the word Eyedew in a pretty girlish font, and even some stars on the packaging. Won over by the cuteness, I handed over my 3.99 for a 10ml bottle, and trotted off home to try them .

Luckily, the box, as well as being pretty, came with simple instructions for use - pretty much just squeezing a little into each eye . It also said this was suitable for all eye colours - which now has me wondering if different eye colours need different products! The bottle inside was not as attractive, being white with a blue screw on lid, and a small label . This should be stored in the fridge once opened .

Following the instructions, I squeezed a couple of drops into each eye, and then blinked to spread the liquid. Admittedly, I was a bit shaky on first application - the idea of sticking something in my eye seemed a bit unnatural to me, but actually, these didn't hurt or sting at all .

Immediately I could feel my eyes were less scratchy - I could open and close my eyes much more comfortably. As the day wore on, I also noticed I felt a lot less tired, I suspect as a result of being less heavy lidded, which made me in general a little happier .

The big result was looking in the mirror though - I looked wide awake and healthy, a far cry from my drained look when I'd gotten up in the morning . My eyes sparkled - and I did too!

A great product - soothes eye irritation and makes my eyes sparkle! Perhaps the one disadvantage is it needing to be stored in the fridge between uses, which makes taking it out on long nights out a little impractical!
