Otrivine Nasal Drops
I am reviewing the Otrivine Nasal Drops for adults, there are other versions of this product available. Otrivine nasal spray, nasal drops for kids, metered does and a spray for sinusitis.
I have suffered with allergies since I was a child, I am allergic to plant's animals, dust, spray's I also have Rhinitis, as such I spend most of my life with a very blocked nose.
I think I have tried pretty much every spray there is out there to try and help with my sinuses including several steroid sprays and nothing ever works as well as Otrivine.
THE PACKING ....
The product comes in a small blue cardboard box that has a design on the front that I think is meant to look like the product being sprayed. The spray pattern is coloured white and red which really does stand out against the blue of the box. The product name it printed in blue across the centre of the box at the top end along with details that these are nasal drops. On the back of the box are the directions for use, safety instructions and also what the drops are used to treat.
The drops themselves come in a very small cloudy white plastic bottle, this is topped with a blue twist cap lid. The lid has a tamper seal on it and has a small blue rubber dropper protruding from the top of it. When you open the lid the dropper is fastened into the lid.
THE PRODUCT ....
Otrivine is a very handy product, it can be used to treat pretty much anything that is blocking your sinuses from colds, allergies, hay fever and sinusitis.
The drops are clear in colour and have absolutely no scent to them at all. To use you simply gently unscrew the lid of the bottle and without lifting the dropper out of the bottle squeeze the rubber section of the dropper so that is sucks up some of the drops. Remove the dropper from the bottle and then place 2-3 drops up each nostril. This can be repeated 2-3 times a day as required.
The drops last for around 10 hours, which is a really good period of time.
As with many medicines the drops need to be discarded within 28 days of opening and these say that they should never be stored at above 25 degrees.
The drops work within around 10 minutes being administered and really do work. For many years I have suffered worst of all at night, the moment my had went back my nose would close up and I would end up sounding like I was snoring before I was even asleep. I slept almost upright for many years until I found these and I suspect I snored much worse back them as well!
My GP has warned me that there are many cases of people being addicted to Otrivine so I do not use these each day, however if once I have laid down to sleep my nose is very blocked I use a few drops to help me get a good nights rest.
SIZE AND PRICE ....
The bottle is 10ml in size and retails from £2.65 - £3.89 depending which version of the product you opt for. I usually buy mine from Superdrug or Boots but I have seen them available at other pharmacy's.
I love this product, I really do wish I could use it every day because it is the only product that really does clear my sinuses and keep them clear for a good period of time. I think they are quite expensive but I often can not get a good nights rest without them and sleep is very important. I do sometimes buy the spray version of this, it is slightly cheaper however I find that it does not work quite as well as the drops so buy them most often. Would I suggest these? Yes I would have no hesitation in suggesting these to anyone, they really do work. I would give these 5 stars.
Summary: Superfast results that last for a good amount of time.
