... smooth chalky mixture and this is actually a rather comforting feel; as it slips down your throat you can almost feel it lining everything with a safe encapsulating film. The bottle comes with a useful dosing cup. Adults should take 30 ml, children over 10 years 20 ml and children between 6 - 10 years 10 ml. The dose should be repeated every 30 minutes if needed. However, I have never required more than one dose to sort me out. The medicine is effective on indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhoea and, most importantly,...more

So this man and his wife are watching telly one evening when there is a loud knock at the door. The man goes to answer it, and returns several minutes later with a bloody nose and a black eye. “You won’t believe this,” he gasps to his astonished wife.”I just opened the door and there was a six-foot beetle standing there. He punched me for no reason.” “Oh yes, dear,”his wife replies.”I forgot to tell you. They say there’s a nasty bug going round!” Ha-Ha, Hee-Hee! Not so funny though, when you are the victim of a “nasty bug” and have had your head down the toilet so long you ...  Read the complete review

Forget the wheel. Forget the telephone. Pepto Bismol is, without doubt, the greatest invention of all time. I was first introduced to the product while staying with my then boyfriend's aunt and uncle. It was the first time that I had met this part of his family and I was told that they were good hosts. What this actually meant was that they ply their guests with copious quantities of alcohol. I won?t go into the grizzly details of my behaviour on that fateful evening but when I woke up the next day I found that I was unable to hold any food down whatsoever. Every 15 minutes without fail I would wretch my guts up. It even got to the stage ...  Read the complete review

If there is anybody out there who hasn’t tried Pepto-Bismol, one taste of this and you will never be able to forget it! It’s a stomach medicine which is available over the counter from any chemist and is a vivid bright pink in colour. The medicine is very think in consistency and provides a protective coating on sensitive or inflamed tummies. It can help treat a number of problems but be warned, the stuff tastes foul, think liquid Ralgex! If you can bear to swallow it, you can get very good relief from some unpleasant symptoms. As a recovering M.E. sufferer, I used to get a lot of nausea and tummy upsets and this product always took the ...  Read the complete review

It's the morning after. Did you really say that? You didn't really do that, did you? Not with that person!? But worse, far worse, your head's banging, your stomach feels like Vesuvius about to erupt, you're dizzy as hell and you actually want to die. Reach for the peptobismal QUICK. Peptobismal is not promoted as a hangover cure. It is in fact a medicine for stomach problems, including inflammation, diarrhea, nausea, indigestion, heartburn and that old hangover favourite, flatulence. As well as containing ingredients which act on the stomach problem, it also contains a pain-killer, so will deal with a headache too. Looks: It is a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review PeptoBismal: Hangover Sir (384 words)
by - written on 16/01/01 (Very useful, 215 readings)
Rating:

Peptobismal is a thick pinkish liquid that can be bought over the counter in most Chemists. When taken in the appropriate dosage it brings relief to Stomach Upsets, Indigestion, "the Gallops" (I hate using the proper word) and Heartburn. I have no doubt that my opinion will be cause for much “finger wagging” but I feel that it is my duty to pass this most important information on. My opinion is based on its almost miracle like qualities at curing the “Common Hangover”. Please respect that I do not condone the following action, as our bodies and its response to medicines can be varied. I am in no way a pharmacist, and ...  Read the complete review
