Pettitgrain: Poor Man's Neroli - But Just as Good! (351 words)

Rating:

Petitgrain comes from France and also North Africa and has a fresh and flowery aroma, which is similar to Neroli; therefore, it is often regarded as a cheaper alternative to Neroli essential oil. Pettitgrain essential oil comes from the orange tree. For those who want to know, its botanical name is citrus aurantium, amera. The oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs of the plant, and is produced commercially in France, Italy, Paraguay, and Brazil. The aroma is floral with a slightly bitter tone to it and it is used in many classic perfumes. The main uses for oil are: For anger. Dab a little on the wrist for a calming effect. Depression. ...  Read the complete review

Pettigrain oil is obtained from the bitter orange tree which also gives us Neroli. It is a top note in aromatherapy, meaning the smell lasts a short amount to time, evaporates quickly and has an immediate effect. Tt blends well with other oils especially orange and Neroli which is a divine combination. Pettigrain is invaluable for people suffering with insomnia especially when this is linked to being unhappy and lonely. It is a good antidepressant and is useful for people who suffer with Winter Blues as it helps to calm and balance the nervous system. It is also good for people suffering with anxiety, backache, fatigue, neck tension, asthma and stress. It is an ...  Read the complete review
