... I didn't suffer an attack from hay fever the whole day. This was a massive break through as anyone who has ever experienced hay fever will know it can make you feel absolutely miserable. Alternatively if you have forgotten to take Piriton in the morning and you start feeling the symptoms of hay fever e.g. sneezing, runny nose, swollen eyes etc. A small dose of Piriton can reduce and leave you feeling great again after only an hour which is very impressive as your symptoms will slowly fade until they're gone altoget...more

Premium Review Piriton: Stop scratching and sneezing (631 words)

Piriton in some form or other has been an integral part of our medicine cabinet for as long as I can remember. Our daughter suffered severe eczema from the age of about 4 months, until she was finally treated with wet wraps at the age of 7. That period was one of intense itchiness for her, causing her distress, and sleepless nights as she scratched and bled. From the age of 12 months, however, we were able to give her Piriton Syrup, which helped ease the itchiness, and helped her sleep a bit better at night. We were advised not to use it all the time, because like all medicines, it is not designed to be used on a daily basis permanently, but it ...  Read the complete review

I have always been on summer holidays, every year with my parents as a child and more or less every year once or twice now I am an adult. Although I used to love my summer holidays, there was one thing that always used to spoil them and that was the horrible rash that I came out in when in the sun. I used to suffer really bad with prickly heat, when in my teenage years that was when it used to bother me more so as I would be dressed up, looking nice and I would have this rash all over me. I didn't affect every part of my body, it seem to affect my legs more than anywhere and my legs would turn into red little lumps all over, which wasn't too bad to look at ...  Read the complete review

I have had hayfever for as long as I can remember and having tried so many lotions and potions from the chemist I was over the moon when I first tried piriton. As a child my hayfever was at its worst and there were not the medicines about as they are today and I had to put up with eye drops and watery medicine prescribed by the doctor that gave me no relief from sneezing, eye soreness, itchy throat and generally feeling awfull. I remember my neighbour even giving me cucumber for my eyes as they would become so itchy and sore and I have to say the cucumber did cool them down and make them feel more comfortable. Nowadays things are different and after ...  Read the complete review

I decided to write this review as Thank you and Goodbye note to Piriton tablets- they have served me well over the last 14 and a half years and I leave them now regrettably, because I have become lactose intolerant. I didn't make a choice to buy Piriton tablets, my doctor prescribed them, as part of my "kitty" that I carry with me for when I have allergic reactions. They were cheaper to buy over the counter than to get on prescription so I switched to buying them that way. It wasn't long before having to go to a display unit, rather than just having them handed to me as part of a prescription, that I noticed that they were most ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Piriton: Medicine with a bite (634 words)

Piriton along with Calpol are the staples of my medicine cupboard. I have three small children and find these medicines to be indispensable. Piriton syrup is a medicine used for the relief of: * Hay fever and other allergies * Nettle rash, hives, heat rash, prickly heat and dermatitis * Reactions to food, food additives, medicines and insect bites. * Also relieves the itchy rash of chickenpox. Piriton is suitable for children 1 year and over. As with all medicines Piriton should not be used unless in consultation with a medical professional. My eldest child is 7 years old and has suffered with eczema since ...  Read the complete review
