Advantages: fast relief from hayfever

Disadvantages: can cause drowsiness

I have had hayfever for as long as I can remember and having tried so many lotions and potions from the chemist I was over the moon when I first tried piriton.

As a child my hayfever was at its worst and there were not the medicines about as they are today and I had to put up with eye drops and watery medicine prescribed by the doctor that gave me no relief from sneezing, eye soreness, itchy throat and generally feeling awfull. I remember my neighbour even giving me cucumber for my eyes as they would become so itchy and sore and I have to say the cucumber did cool them down and make them feel more comfortable.

Nowadays things are different and after trying so many tablets and medicines, the chemist told me about piriton. It costs me around £6 for a box of 60 tablets, the dosage is as follows:

Adults and children aged 12 and over...take one tablet every 4-6 hours.
Children aged 6-12 years...take give half a tablet every 4-6 hours.

It is not recommended for children under 6 but you can buy the syrup that is. It also advises not to exeed more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.

Piriton is also helpfull if you are allergic to pet hair, dust mites, mould spores, rashes, hives, heat rash, dermatitis, food allergy, food additives, insect bites and also relieves itchy rashes and chicken pox.

The box states that they can cause drowsiness and must say I do find that I get drowsy if I have a bad day and need to take more than usual which happens when I have to cut my lawns or do some gardening and I have mild epilepsy and a couple of occasions when taken more it does cause me to have small "turns", but once I take one pill I find it gives me relief after about 10 to 15 minutes and on a normal day I only need to take about two or three a day which gives me no ill effect.

My daughter was diagnosed with hayfever last year too but she seems to manage on what the doctor prescribes her, but if it gets worse then I will have no problem in giving her piriton too, but she will need the syrup rather than the tablets.

This for me has been the best product for making life more comfortable and giving fast and effective relief from hayfever and I highly recommend this to anyone.
