When I was younger around 17 / 18 years and all nightbhouse partys were the thing of the weekend Pro Plus were the thing to have to keep you up so you dodn't miss out on anything.

Pro Plus can be purchased in Supermarkets and Pharmacys and costs vary depending on how many you buy 16 will cost you around £1 they are also sold in 24s for around £2 and 48 tablets for around £4.

Pro Plus are basically caffeine tablets which are designed to give you a boost and keep you awake and alert. The tablets are the same size as pain killers and are easily swallowed with water or when I was younger alcohol but don't get me wrong I am by no means recommending anyone follows my example and mixes them with alcohol.

I think Pro Plus are aimed mainly at young people - students in particular they advertise in away that makes you think you can use them to stay up all night studying in reality in my case it was to stay up all night partying I suppose on the other hand it was better than taking illegal drugs to keep me up.

As humans once we have been awake for 18 hours we begin to get tired and fatigued and when this happens we should probably be going to sleep and taking the natural option to revive however sometimes this is not possible and thats when people turn to pro plus.

Each 2 tablets of Pro Plus contain 100mg of caffeine which is the same as drinking a strong cup of coffee so you get the caffeine hit without the coffee taste. Caffeine is designed to make you more alert and keep you awake. In the short term this is fine and pro plus to emphasise that they are not a replacement for sleep.

My advice for taking Pro Plus is be sensible as a teenager I took no notice of the rules of how many to take and one night took way to many the results of this were I went to sleep so that defeated the object of staying awake. The long term effects seemed to be that when I drink a higher volume of caffeine now in alchopops l get tingles in my hands and arms this did not used to happen before I can not be sure if it was down to the over use of Pro Plus but it couldn't have helped.

I think Pro Plus are fine if you are responsible with them and are only using them occasionally they can't replace a good nights sleep though. I have also known people to become addicted to them so I don't think they should be so easy to purchase.
