This oil has a distinct woody aroma that lingers in the air. It is not a very heavy, clinging fragrance though (middle note). The latin name for this oil (or the plant it comes from) is Ravensara Aromatica. The family name of this plant is Lauraceae. It is important to have this information before purchasing so that you can be sure that you are getting pure, genuine, unadulterated oil. Ravensara has a wide range of uses but I find its strength is in treating any type of respiratory infection either on its own or blended with other oils. It has a vaguely mild Eucalyptus like aroma. Ravensara provides a boost to your immune system as well as attacking any invading virus. I put a few drops of Ravensara on my pillow at night at the first sign of a cold, and several times this has headed them off before they fully developed, or at least made for a mild and briefer infection than normal.
