Advantages: quick, discreet relief, grest value

Disadvantages: not the best taste

Trapped wind and bloatedness is not only embarrassing but also very uncomfortable. I have experienced it on several occasions and this is why I now always keep a box of Rennie Deflatine both at home and work all of the time.

~~~~~What Is It / Uses ~~~~~
Rennie Deflatine's active ingredients are Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Carbonate and Simeticone as stated on the packaging which works along with the other ingredients to relieve the discomfort of trapped wind and bloating.
There are also antacid properties in the tablets allowing excess acid to be neutralised and therefore stopping the effects of indigestion.
The Deflatine come in chewable tablet form in sugar free mint flavour. The taste is not the best and quite chalky in texture but the mint flavour does help make them more palatable. The tablets can be used for:
-Trapped wind
-Bloatedness
-Indigestion
~~~~~Price/Availability~~~~~
Rennie Deflatine comes in a box of either 18 or 36 tablets, a box of 18 is currently available from www.superdrug.com for £1.99. You can buy Deflatine in most pharmacies, boots, Superdrug and some larger supermarkets.

~~~~~Packaging~~~~~
This product has quite distinctive Yellow packaging, it's very bold and stands out on the shelf in the shops.
On the front of the box you can find information about the active ingredients and what symptoms the tablets help to relieve. On the back is much more detailed information including how to take the medicine, full ingredients listings as well as any warnings associated with taking the tablets.
The box is easy to open with a pressable tab to make opening the box less fiddly. Inside the box of 18 tablets is three strips of six tablets in foil wrapping. The tablets can be separated from perforations in the foil, this allows you to break off one or two tablets at a time without disturbing the others keeping them wrapped and fresh.
There is also an information leaflet contained inside the box which provides more detailed information about the tablets and who they are suitable for.
~~~~~How to Take~~~~~
This product is only recommended for adults. It states on the box to chew or suck 1 or 2 tablets as soon as any discomfort is felt, up to a maximum of 16 tablets in any 24 hour period.
I have found that I have never had to take any more than 4 tablets to relief the symptoms of trapped wind or bloating.

~~~~~My Opinion~~~~~
These tablets have always worked fantastically for me, giving quick discrete relieve from sometimes terrible pains associated with bloating and trapped wind.
The taste of the tablets is not brilliant so I tend to chew them quite quickly to get it over. The strong minty taste does make it a little better but to be honest the fantastic effect the tablets have is worth the few seconds of bad taste.
I also think they are fantastic value as a box will last me around 6 months, obviously this is dependent on how often you suffer the symptoms but still quite a cheap medication.
Summary: a medical cabinet must!
