Advantages: None
Disadvantages: I still felt ill
Now my Best Friend swears by Resolve as a hangover preventative or cure. She usually has one before retiring for the night and one when she gets up in the morning. I personally have never managed to be with it long enough to have one before passing out so I can only comment on the morning after option.
A couple of months ago I purchased a box of lemon flavour Resolve which contains 10 sachets. I bought it for just under £3 from Tescos. The only reason I bought it was so I could put a couple of sachets with my mates birthday as a joke. Obviously I was left with 8 sachets so thought I may as well use them or they would just go to waste. Looking back I should have just thrown them out.
Resolve is a supposed to be a fast headache relief and to gently settle the stomach which contains paracetamol.
How to take:
Dissolve contents of sachet in a glass of water (150 - 200ml) Stir and drink. One sachet should be taken every four hours but no more than four sachets in any one day.
A couple of weeks ago I woke up feeling extremely worse for wear, I decided to blame it on a bug but my Mum said it was because I was getting old and couldn't handle my drink like I used to, yeah right (I refuse to believe that and will continue drinking copiuos amounts just to prove her wrong).
Anyway I dragged myself to the kitchen and decided to have a Resolve. I mixed it with water, braced myself then drank the contents. Firstly, I dont know how they can say its lemon flavour, it most certainly did not taste like any lemon I've ever come across and secondly I went from being a little queasy to oh my god I think I'm going to be sick, not pleasant. Thankfully my stomach contains remained where they were supposed to but the resolve did me no favours at all.
So needless to say it did not ease my stomach but it did help with my headache, but then taking a paracetamol would have done that.
The Absorbic acid in the Resolve is supposed to replace the vitamin C that has been lost due to drinking alcohol. I have decided that a glass of orange works much better so in future that will be my first port of call.
Each sachet contains :
Paracetamol Ph Eur 1000mg
Anhydrous Citric Acid Ph Eur 1185mg
Sodium Bicarbonate Ph EUr 808mg
Potassium Bicarbonate BPC 715mg
Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate Ph Eur 153mg
Absorbic Acid Ph Eur 30mg
This might work for most people but it really didnt have the desired effect on me. Maybe my body rejected it because it prefered to have the alcohol running through my blood stream and nothing else. Like I said previously, my mate swears by it and it works well for her. I think I'll stick to my hangover cure of a couple of cans of Fanta Twist and a bowl of chilli.
Resolve can be bought from most supermarkets and chemist for between £2.50 - £3.00.
Summary: Try it you may have more luck with it than I did
