Advantages: Do help settle stomach

Disadvantages: Do nothing for my headaches.

I bought a box of these Resolve for the morning after basically on a whim when I saw them in my local chemist as I was planning on going out that weekend and thought that they might come in handy.
They cost me £4 which was for a box containing 10 sachets.

The idea behind the sachets is that you take them the morning after being out and drinking alcohol and they will help any headaches and upset stomachs that you might have.
To use the sachets you just open one and pour it into a glass of water and stir until it is dissolved.

When you pour the powder into the water it creates a fizzing which is quite strong and it is best to gulp down the resolve when it is still really fizzy as opposed to waiting until the fizz subsides. The powder is supposed to be lemon flavoured but other than a slight tang it isn't very lemony and it actually has quite a bitter salty taste to it. It isn't the nicest drink but as long as you just down it, it's fine.

The main active ingredients in resolve are paracetamol, caffeine and sodium bicarbonate so there is no special wonder drug in them that is going to make you feel better straight away. I found that when the powder was mixed with water the fizziness really did help to settle my stomach quickly but it didn't really do all that much for my bad head.

After swallowing my glass of resolve I waited for my head to start getting better but after an hour I needed to go back to bed as it was absolutely pounding. When I woke up again I felt a little bit better but my headache was still there. Because resolve has paracetamol in it I didn't feel comfortable taking any other sort of painkiller until after the four hours were up. After the four hours I took a couple of Anadin and my headache vanished almost immediately.

I have taken resolve a few times now and I have found that I quite like them for those days when I am feeling a little poorly and they help make me feel better but I wouldn't recommend them really if you have a bad headache or a really jippy tummy.

To be honest I didn't really think all that much of these as a hangover cure and think that a couple of normal paracetamols, plenty of water and something to eat would probably do a better job but I do think they are quite good for just helping you feel better on days when you are feeling poorly and need a little pick me up.

Summary: Okay for helping you feel better but not for bad hangovers
