Advantages: no sweetener aftertaste, gently soothing, good value

Disadvantages: none, really

I tried these for the first time a couple of weeks ago whilst in France - am delighted to also find them here. I bought some in Sainsbury's, but have seen them in Tesco and some newsagents too.

At the time I was doing an operatic competition and had been singing all day for a few days, and realised I was in need of some lozenges or something to keep me going until the end of the week. Thankfully I found these in the confectionery section of the supermarket.

I don't usually buy sugar-free sweets; the main beef I have with such confectionery is that you usually get a nasty aftertaste from the sweetener. These, however, are an exception - the only bitterness comes from the natural taste of cranberry, and they're not sickly-sweet either. There's a slight menthol taste as well, which makes them soothing for any mild throat/vocal ailment without burning out your tastebuds like regular cough-cold products do. I don't think these are specifically a cold remedy, as they're nowhere near as strong as Lockets, for example, but they're nice to suck on on a normal day if feeling hoarse or while travelling etc.

Very good value for money, they are usually somewhere around the £1.30 mark, and when you open the palm-sized box it is crammed right up to the top (you don't see that much these days). The boxes come plastic-wrapped for freshness, but the sweets aren't individually wrapped and the cardboard box is fully recyclable.

Summary: excellent product, nice flavour
