Rating:
When I'm choosing a throat sweet I prefer not to take anything that is going to be too strong. I have lately found some very nice lemon and mint throat sweets for mild to moderate sore throats and they are by a company called Ricola. Ricola seems to make these throat sweets in a lot of different flavours and I have tasted most of them but the most recent ones I have bought and tasted have been their lemon and mint one. I like anything with klemon and other citrus based tastes and flavours so I knew I would like these. I bought these throat sweets from the supermarket where they cost me £1.39 for a small pack. They come on a box and not a packet though I ... Read the complete review

I have had a sore throat for about three days now so when me and my fiancé popped into Tesco yesterday to get something for our dinner I decided to see what throat lozenges they had to offer. After having a quick look at all of the different ones I ended up picking this pack up. To be honest I only picked it up because I was quite overwhelmed by the choice and couldn't be bothered spending ages choosing a pack of lozenges! I did make sure they were sugar free though and of course I made sure that they weren't too expensive!! I paid £1.39 for the 45 gram pack and there are 20 of the lozenges inside the pack, which is more than enough to last me for ... Read the complete review

Ricola is a swiss brand who make a variety of flavoured lozenges which I find useful when suffering with a sore throat, or just as a general sweet to suck while driving on long journeys. The brand is fairly different to other brands of throat lozenges as the contents come in a small cardboard box about the size of a pack of cards. These open at the top like a cigarette packet would, and have a clever packaging design which stops the pack coming open if you carry them around in a coat pocket or handbag. They are herbal sweets, made from 13 different herbs, and they contain a small amount of vitamin C in each lozenge to make you feel they are kind of ... Read the complete review

Ricola are natural, healthy herbal drops and according to their literature it is the world's best-selling herbal confectionery. The thing I like about these drops is that they contain only 6 calories per sweet so if you need something sweet to suck on these are not as bad for you as other boiled sweets you can get. I generally keep a bag of sweets in my car glove compartment for times when those long journeys get a bit boring and I need something to not only freshen my mouth but to also soothe a bit of a dry throat. I don't really have a drink in my car apart from water which I just sip as I would always need to stop to go to the toilet so I keep these in my ... Read the complete review

Ricola's sugar-free drops come in various flavours (like cranberry, elderflower and original) and this is my review of the Lemon Mint flavour. You can buy them in Holland and Barrett, Sainsbury's and a few other shops but they're often hard to track down. In Sainsbury's they cost £1.22, their price tends to vary from 99p to £1.50 depending on where you buy them. Each packet is 45g and you get approximately 18 individual per box. The box is a bit like a slim cigarette packet so I find they easily fit in pockets and bags for taking out and about. The sweets inside never get stuck together although if they've rattled around a lot some of them may be a ... Read the complete review
