Rosemary is an evergreen herb that came originally from the Mediteranean. It's Latin name is 'Rosmarinus officinalis, (important to know before you purchase.) The essential oil is extracted by steamdistillation from the leaves and flowering tips of the plant. Traditionally, the herb is used for cooking, medicine and in religious ceremonies. Rosemary, like Lavender and Tea Tre, is one of those oils that you cannot be without, it has so many uses. It can be burned in an oil burner around the house for a lovely leafy, fresh and clean atmoshphere. Plus it you happen to be studying, or needing to concentrate on a task at the same time, it is the best oil to aid concentration and promote alertness. It is one of the first oils I reach to when any of the family, or indeed myself, are feeling achy or suffering from any muscular pains or strains. It is very warming and invigorating.
