As I have a newborn, prone to many dribbles (some of which end up on me), I have boxes of tissues dotted around the house - in the bedroom for night feeds, the nursery for changing mat drool, and in the lounge by the sofa. Obviously, having so many boxes around the house means that I am not really willing to spend £1 or over a box, it would cost me a fortune! So I was pleased to find in Sainsbury's, these Basics tissues which for me, do the job. **Cost** Available in all Sainsbury's stores, a box of 150 two-ply tissues costs 35p. This is a great price for a basic product and far cheaper than the other supermarket's alternative - the Asda Smart Price ... Read the complete review

When we recently needed some tissues at home (because some of us are starting to get the sniffles), my daughter bought home a box of these Sainsbury's Tissues which come from their Basics range. Now having already experienced the disastrous quality of the tissues from the Tesco Value range, I was a little sceptical about how these Sainsbury's ones would hold up. As with all of their Basics range products, the packaging is simple. In this case, you get a white box with an orange/red banner across the top and the words 'Facial Tissues' in the middle. The cost is 35p which is directly comparable to what you pay in Tesco for their Value range tissues - a lot ... Read the complete review

I'm not very loyal when it comes to different brands, and will try pretty much anything as long as I don't feel it's overpriced, which is how I came to buy a box of Sainsbury's Basics facial tissues. I had a slight cold whilst a work and popped to the nearest supermarket to get some tissues. I didn't see the point in paying between £1 and £1.50 for a box of tissue from brands such as Kleenex, when I could spend 35p on a box of Sainsbury's own brand tissues. If I had a sore nose, I might have bought the ones with balm, but I didn't, so I went for the normal cheap tissues. For 35p each box contains 150 tissues, each 2 ply in thickness, and they are the standard ... Read the complete review

With Sainsbury's Basics Facial Tissues you get a box of 150 two ply tissues for 35p. It's always tempting when you see a product this cheap and many of the supermarket 'value' brands are not that bad at all so I thought I would give these a whirl when my cold was in its last stages but still making my nose run. The tissues are not a complete waste of time but obviously they are not as strong as some of the more branded tissues and don't go as far. Although you get a good amount of tissues the box this is one 'basics' product where you can tell you've gone for the bargain offer and sacrificed some of the quality. These do disintegrate quite easily if you give ... Read the complete review

I am always looking for ways to save a few pennies and a lot of this involves replacing every day essentials with supermarket own brands. I normally do my shopping in Tesco's but occasionally I head over to Sainsbury's to buy some different products and get some variety. Unfortunately right now the weather is cold and miserable and for my household that means one thing, colds one after the other and lots of nose blowing and sneezing. This means we get through quite a few tissues. I decided to give Sainsbury's basic facial tissues a try. The tissues come in a mainly white rectangular cardboard box with subtle orange detailing, very typical Sainsbury's basic ... Read the complete review
