Savlon This is one of the things I always have in the medical box, and have done for years. ~~What is it?~~ Basically, this is an antiseptic cream which can be used for first aid treatment (cuts and grazes, insect stings, minor burns) and skin problems (blisters and sores, spots, sunburn, chapped skin, nappy rash). ~~What does it do?~~ Apparently, this will gently soothe minor skin disorders and will help the healing process. ~~Product and Packaging~~ My most recent 30g tube comes in a blue box, which when opened reveals the tube. The tube itself is blue with the savlon logo on the front and ... Read the complete review

Slapped Cheek Fever. You might laugh. Here at Murphy Towers, we are afflicted with the slapped cheek disease. Its symptoms are a raised temperature and hot, livid, red patches on the cheeks. You do not feel particularly ill ? just a little bit hot and bothered ? but you do look like Aunt Sally. And your cheeks do sting. In addition, if you are not careful, and you scratch, your cheeks may become sore and infected. And if your name is Conor Aunt Sally Murphy, you might have skin that tends to eczema. If your slapped cheeks get sore and infected, it is quite possible that the ... Read the complete review

There are a few things that don't occur to me when it comes to running my household and I'm afraid to say that keeping a well-stocked and up to date first aid kit is one of them. This means that whenever there is a 'bit of an accident' in our house a bit of panic ensues... Due to a bit of an 'incident' my partner had a few months back whilst slicing a loaf of bread (don't ask!!) my attention was drawn once again to the lack of suitable stuffs I had in our house for cuts and grazes. The next time I was in my local Savers discounted drugstore I therefore decided to stock up on a few bits of gauze, plasters, cream and bandages and that sort of thing ... Read the complete review

As a child I was particularly accident prone, to put it bluntly I was clumsy. In fact if you asked my partner he would say that things haven't changed much today! I'm forever banging into things, stubbing my toes, and being a danger to myself in general. Instead of trying to fix the cause of my clumsiness by paying more attention to what I am doing, I opt to have a well stocked first aid box covering every possible outcome. I like to be prepared and without doubt one of my main stays of my first aid box has to be Savlon Antiseptic Cream. The Packaging: Unlike some products, the Savlon branding and packaging have remained very much the same ... Read the complete review
