Disadvantages: Reels A Bit Rubbery When Dry.
I was completely horrified when I saw my best friend's python tattoo. I have nothing against people who have tattoos, but this one, was large, ugly, and unfeminine. Yet I smiled and said, wow that's lovely". I couldn't help notice it was red and inflamed. I didn't want to mention the fact it was, in case she got scared. It looked awful sore.. but she said it didn't bother her much, and, she lifted a small blue tube out of her handbag and started rubbing cream on the tattoo. "This stuffs great", she said, rubbing. I had no idea what it was. She explained it was "Savlon" an antiseptic cream used to heal the tattoo and stop pain. But I knew stuff like that never worked!
When she left, she accidentally left her Savlon. I put it in my first aid and literally tutted at what looked like a great waste of money!
I'm a very spotty person, so every night I use a "facial sauna", basically a machine which boils bater and lets of steam. It never works, yet, I sill continue to use it. It was really hard bending down to keep my face in the machine, so, I did exactly what your told NOT to do... I lifted the machine up to my face! It seemed really stupid, what danger could it cause. And suddenly my phone rang, and as I went to pick it up, I had tilted the sauna to the side and all the boiling hot water had spilled and scolded all my arm! I was in excruciating agony! I done the first thing anyone would do, rised it under cold water. It was the inside of my arm, above the elbow so it was hard to rinse, also, very sensitive. I had no idea what to do next, I don't keep a first aid box, I never usually get hurt. I got some ice and put it to the burn, bad idea! I just sat in agony and waited for the pain to go away. But it wouldn't! I tried to look in my cupboards for pain killers, but I had used them all. The only thing I had was, Savlon!
I was a bit weary about using creams on burns in case it stung. So I put a bit of cream on the side of the burn. It didn't sting! I then rubbed on a large amount of Savlon on my burn, I had never felt more soothed in my life! It was still a little sore, and, I didn't want to go to bed without covering it up.. so, I wrapped cling film (veryy loosey!) around the burn and wrapped a bandage round my poor wounded arm! I know your not suppose to do this.. but the burn was aching I had to do something...
The next day my arm was still really sore.. the cream had worked a little, not as much as I would have hoped. I rubbed more of the magical Savlon on my poor arm and head off to tackle the day! Surprisingly, at the end of the day my arm was feeling a lot better. And then, after 3 days of Using Savlon, I could touch the burn and not scream or squeal. My arms a bit better now, If I was to scratch it, it would be sore, but really, Savlon has been a great help and I would probably be dying without it!
The cream was apparently around £2 from her local chemist. It comes in a blue box, and inside, a plastic tube with a large easy-to-put-on lid. The cream is not soft, actually, quite rubbery feeling. You don't have that horrible cold feeling when its just came out on aluminium tube, (although, in my situation, I probably would have preferred that).
You can use Savlon for:
* Insect bites & Stings
* Cuts & grazes
* Minor burns & scalds
*Shaving cuts
*Antiseptic cream for hands
* Blisters & Sores
*Chapped skin
*Nappy Rash
*Spots & Blackheads
*Sunburn.
How to apply:
If it is a cut your dealing with, wash it out first. I would like it dry and heal for a bit before applying the cream. I would put the cream in a cool place as if you have a burn, it will feel better on your skin. Use it once in a while if you are trying to heal a major burn or cut. Simply rub the cream into your skin with clean hands. For external use only.
Conclusion:
There's nothing to conclude really. I burnt myself, I secretly used al my friend's cream and she had to suffer in pain for the following week. Its cheap, and works brilliantly. Recommended? Definitely!
Summary: Saved Me Weeks Of Unnessery Pain.
